The First of its Kind for the Northern Rivers ...

The Lismore Women's Festival is the brainchild of YWCA NSW's Northern Rivers Senior Manager, Sandra Handley. Sandra was inspired after she came across the month long sister festival ‘La Fiesta’ in her hometown of Whanganui, New Zealand.  Sandra brought it across the Tasman with permission of the Whanganui Women’s Network and now there are 45+ women and many organisations involved in creating the inaugural Festival for March 2017.

The Festival is open to all people who identify as women and those who support them - kids, partners, basically everyone! and we encourage people who identify with any gender to get involved.  Some workshop organisers may choose to hold a specific gendered event and this will be noted in our programs.

There’s something for everyone, so come and join in the fun … run an activity, join a workshop, become a 'Shero' or get involved in the festival organising.
